Body printing is a fun and often messy activity for all ages. Do it outside, in the shed or other area that is easily cleaned - not on your best carpet!
What you will need:
- Paint
- Paint brushes
- Paper
- Hands, feet and other body parts.
Basic Method:
Hand and foot prints:
- Brush paint onto hands, or make a tray and dip your body part in.
- Press firmly down on paper.
- Hang to dry
- You could draw and decorate around the prints, label them with the name of the owners, cut them out.
Get Creative:
- As well as the obvious hand and foot prints, try an elbow or even an ear.
- Compare the different sizes and shapes each person's prints.
- Do handprints with fingers together, then spread out.
- Try making some trick prints like a hand with and extra finger.
- Make a game - match the print to the person
Talk:
- Talk about the different sizes and shapes. Whose feet are shortest, longest, widest etc?
- Count the fingers, and the toes. Name the parts of the body.
