This activity is great for multicultural activities and fine motor skills.
Suitable for ages 9 months to school age children.
You will need:
- Large paper plates
- Scissors
Decorating ideas:
- Paints, crayons, coloured pencils and coloured marker pens.
Method:
- Children can decorate the ribbing on the plate.
- Once decorated, cut from the edge of the plate to the inner ring of the paper plate.
- Cut away the entire inside circle of the plate so only the ribbing is left.
- Slip the coloured necklace (ribbing) around your neck to wear.

These necklaces are like the ones worn in central Africa or a Tudor ruff.
